Valentine’s Day Blessing

Valentine’s Day Blessing.  My hubby and I have no BIG PLANS for us.  Our plans are to celebrate with our children and remind them one more time how much they are loved.  Today I will be busy getting it all ready for them and want to have everything done by the time they get home from school.  What am I doing? Well, keep reading as I share with you what my plans are for today.

Our Plans

On a daily basis, I remind my children how much they are loved. Not because of anything they do but because of who they are. My husband and I like to do special things for them just to remind them.  I am not talking about giving them things but words of affirmation, words of encouragement, and spending one-on-one time with them.

Sometimes one of us may go out for ice cream with one of the kids, play a game of chess, go shopping together, or just snuggle.  We are big snugglers!   There is one thing my hubby does that I love and that is that he gives the girls roses just because. My daughters are 2 and 6 but you should see the excitement on their face when they receive a rose from Daddy. It is special!

So today I am setting up the dining room table with candles, treats, champagne glasses (with milk and iced tea), and much more. We are having spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and then we are going to watch Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs Part 2.  We are also going to make doughnuts for dessert and are going to cover them with melted frosting and add pretty sprinkles.  Today we will celebrate the love of our family!

The kids even made dad an awesome gift. They are learning to Metal Emboss and added the texture by hand. I will share those projects with you next Wednesday in the Dazzling Diva Challenge.  They are so proud of their work. Personally, I think they came out awesome and am going to make some more to give as gifts. 🙂

Be a Blessing

I am overwhelmed at the number of emails I received with people sharing their personal stories of tragedy. I was so humbled and moved by every single one of them.  I was blessed to have received five project submissions created to share the love of God on Valentine’s Day with those who need an encouraging word.

All of you have truly blessed my heart and I want to thank you for taking the challenge.  I will continue to put out a challenge once a month.  I think when we are able to reach out to others it helps us as it heals our heart and brings us hope.
