Do you start your morning off with a big cup of coffee? If you do, you are not alone. Coffee is everywhere and you can find it in lots of delicious flavors.  The problem is that the calories in your coffee can easily add up and before you know it you are sipping more than half your calories.

By the time you add up the syrup, creamer, and sugar you have turned your coffee into a danger zone. All these are processed and will hurt your body in numerous ways.  Inflammation, diabetes, obesity, and much more. The good news is that your coffee doesn’t have to sabotage your health or your weight loss efforts.

FINAL BULLETPROOF COFFEE

Sipping It All Away

I love having coffee as part of my mid-morning snack.  Not only is it filling but delicious with a Pumpkin Spice Protein Muffin.  I love knowing that I can enjoy such deliciousness without feeling guilty. What’s even better is all the health benefits found in my Bulletproof Coffee.

There are two main ingredients I add to my bulletproof coffee: Collagen and Coconut Oil

  • Collagen actually makes up almost a third of all the protein in the human body. It is a big, fibrous molecule that makes skin, bones, and tendons both strong and somewhat elastic. As you get older, your body makes less collagen, and individual collagen fibers become crosslinked with each other. As a result, you might experience stiff joints (from less flexible tendons) or wrinkles (from loss of skin elasticity).”  Lack of collagen causes wrinkles, stretch marks, and even contributes to cellulite. Note: I have a client who saw such a big improvement in stiffness after one week of using Collagen. She is able to walk without her cane and her coworkers are amazed at her improvement.  Her doctor was even amazed at the improvement.

  • Coconut Oil is the most nutrient dense part of the coconut. Coconut Oil is an excellent source of medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs), which are easily digested and sent right to the liver for energy production.   As a result, no bile or pancreatic enzymes are needed for digestion, making coconut oil a healthy food even for those with diabetes or those who have gallbladder problems.  MCFAs can help increase metabolism since they are sent directly to the liver and give the body an instant source of energy. There are lots of benefits to using Coconut Oil. You can read more here.

Note: We use Coconut Oil for everything from cooking, drinks, and for medicinal reasons. My husband’s Lipid Panel came back with awesome results after incorporating Coconut Oil into his daily food intake. You can read about it HERE.

We also add Coconut Oil to help with boosting our metabolism for weight loss. We have seen an improvement in this area, too. Please keep in mind that when you are first beginning to use Coconut Oil in your coffee limit it to one tablespoon to prevent an upset stomach. With time your body will adjust and you can increase it.
