How Do You Use Steel Rule Dies?

How Do You Use Steel Rule Dies? is the question our viewer Rosa submitted for our Question of the Week.  This is a common question asked by many crafters especially if you are new to the Big Shot.  There is something that happens to all of us when we open the box the Big Shot came in and we see not only a Big Shot but two cutting plates and the dreaded Multipurpose Platform.  There are so many images on the Multipurpose Platform and it can become quite intimidating.   All of a sudden a product that was purchased for your enjoyment becomes something you fear.   Join us today and learn how to use this amazing product!

How Do You Use Stampin' Up! Framelits?

Why Do I love Steel Rule Dies?
  • Ability to cut multiple sizes and create a layered look
  • Ability to perfectly place the framelits on photos, stamped images, and any other image. You can see exactly where the die will cut without needing to guess
  • Cut windows in card fronts or create frames
  • Ability to easily store them and take them with me wherever I go

Honestly,  there is so much you can do with Steel Rule Dies. I have created many projects with this amazing product. I have created layered look cards, perfectly cut out stamped images, and I have created windows for cards, 3d items, and Home Decor items. Make sure to come back tomorrow as I provide you a list of projects I have created with this amazing product.  I will provide you with images and links that correspond with each post.  Get ready to be dazzled with some old and new projects!

  1. Thank you Monica!!!
I am new to die cutting with my Big Shot and it was great to learn that die cutting your metal sheets is the same as cutting card stock. I appreciate the handy hint about the post-it notes to hold the die in place and to emboss after die cutting too 🙂
