DIY Christmas Cards: Joyful Christmas

DIY Christmas Cards: Joyful Christmas.  Earlier this week, I shared a card I created for the Tim Holtz Blog Challenge.  The response was overwhelming and everybody is dying to learn more about the technique featured.  Today, I am going to share another version of this card using the Stampin’ Up! Joyful Christmas Stamp Set.  Join me today and check out this Take 2 of this beautiful card.

Help Me

Have you ever seen a card that you love only to be disappointed you don’t have that die?  This is very common comment I have received from my blog followers who want to start making their DIY Christmas Cards.  I have received many emails asking for help on recreating the Metal Embossed Poinsettia using the Joyful Christmas Stamp Set.  Many want to create this beautiful metal embossed poinsettia and with a few easy steps you can create this beautiful poinsettia with a die or the Joyful Christmas Stamp Set.

Take 2

As you can see this card follows the same basic layout of the card I shared earlier this week. With a few changes, I was able to create this same basic card layout with the Joyful Christmas Stamp Set. I stamped the images on Scarlet Red Craft Metal Sheet with Gold Pigment Ink and then poured Gold Embossing Powder over the image. Then, I heat set it, cut it out, and assembled it. It was so easy to create and I was able to use the Stampin’ Up! product I had on hand.

I wanted to add a touch of elegance to the card without overpowering it and so I used the Wonderful Words Joy Die and the Wonderful Words Joy Mini Stamp Set from Papertrey Ink. I die cut the word Joy and stamped the small sentiment and placed it underneath the gold image to create an elegant, yet simple look.
