DIY Birthday Party Ideas

DIY Birthday Party Ideas.  Planning a birthday party or any other celebration can be a stressful job. One of the biggest obstacles I face is when the birthday party theme is something I have no idea how to put together.  With some creativity and help from Add a Little Dazzle, you can have the party you have dreamed of. Join me today and take a peek at what I am working on for my daughter’s 7th birthday party celebration at school.

 DIY Birthday Party IdeasNever Fails

My children love when their birthday comes around.  They always ask me to do a birthday party for them in their classroom.  If they just asked for some cake and drinks I would be set. The challenge is that they always want a themed birthday party.

They love the party favors I come up with so every year they challenge me by giving me themes to work with that really push my creativity to the next level.  It never fails! They always ask for a popular kid theme and they want it made by mom.

Funny thing is my children’s classmates already know that I make everything handmade and the kids get excited because they want to see what birthday party ideas I come up with every year.  This year, a girl from my son’s classroom reminded me of all the different themes I had done since 1st grade and mentioned she had all the party favors.

DIY Birthday Party IdeasBirthday Party Ideas Challenge Again

This year my daughter asked me for a specific theme.  Honestly, I thought I had birthday party ideas covered. The problem was that it is a girl theme and my son told me there was no way I could have this for the boys. He said I had to find a way to use the same theme making sure the boys would be taken care of.

The challenge began but I am so excited to say I met the challenge and they were surprised what I came up with.  Take a look at what I was working on in the studio yesterday.  Can you guess what the theme is? Can you guess what the boy party favor character is?  Leave me a comment below and I will pick a winner to receive these two party favors.

  1. I’m dying to see what you ideas u have. My daughter is also turning 7 next month and she wants Hello Kitty, so that’s why I knew about the boyfriend.

  2. Hello Kitty had a friend named Keroppi. He was my daughter’s favorite. He was a frog. He would make a really cute boy favor. I hope your daughter had a really fun birthday!!!

  3. LOL! I am so pleased that there are other comments for me to gleam an idea of what you are up to! 30 years ago we lived a very isolated country life with a toddler and a new born…so I’m afraid I have missed Hello Kitty…both times!
Monica you are creating a wonderful childhood for your children and their friends, that little girl will always remember her party favours!
I’m looking forward to seeing your future videos. Thanks again for being the mum you are! Kudos!

  4. my guess is Hello Kitty and Badiemaru

  5. Monica,
I think you a very special mother to make party favors for a whole class for your children’s birthday! Hello Kitty was very popular with my daughter and friends more than 30 years ago! With my three grandsons it’s always a challenge coming with special birthday cards! Anxious to see how you turned a Hello Kitty character into a male version!

  6. That leaves me out. Don’t know anything bout Hello Kitty. Felix the cat was a LOOONG time ago. But I remember watching it. It was way b4 ur time Monica.

    • Donna,

I didn’t know anything about Hello Kitty until I had to make this for my daughter. Did you know Hello Kitty has a boyfriend? I just found this out a few days ago. LOL

  7. Since the “girl” favour looks like Hello Kitty, my guess for the “boy” favour is either Cat in the Hat or Felix the cat, but you may be too young to know Felix the Cat LOL

    • Deb,

I will give you a clue. It’s a character from Hello Kitty. It’s one of her friends. 🙂 I do know who Felix the Cat is 🙁 I guess I am not as young as you think I am. 🙂

      • Ha Ha on me!! I’m too old (as are my kids) to know Hello Kitty!! and her friends. I really love your party favours, and I’m sure all the kiddo’s loved them too!!

        • Deb,

Thanks so much. You’re never too old. 🙂

  8. Will there be an email with link for video tutorial

    • Tracy,

Yes, there will be video tutorials and pdf tutorial. Just make sure you are on the newsletter mailing list and you will be set.
