Clean Eating: How to Make Strawberry Lemonade in 5 Easy Steps
Clean Eating: How to Make Strawberry Lemonade in 5 Easy Steps. Mommy, mommy, mommy! These are the words I hear all day long these days. Don’t get wrong I love my kids but some days they just drive me crazy! Mommy I am hungry! Mommy I am thirsty! Mommy I am bored! Really? It’s only been three weeks since school has been out and you are already bored? Well, I decided to help them get active and signed them up for an exercise class that meets three days a week. Now, the complaint is I am thirsty during class mom and I don’t want water.
Lets Be Honest
After I sent out Thursday’s post, my son told me how upset he was that I was going to take away his favorite drink. He went as far as to tell me that when he grows up and has his own house he will buy his own tea with Splenda. My son is very mellow and NEVER gets mad but this time it was different. He was MAD and I could see it!!!
Right away I knew I could do one of two things. First, tell him this is the way it’s going to be take it or leave it. Second, lets compromise. I decided to compromise with him. Why? Because #1 reason I ALWAYS failed at “healthy eating” (AKA dieting) was because everything I loved to eat and drink was taken from me. I realized if I did this to him I was setting him up to not be able to make “clean eating” a way of life.
We agreed that I would not get rid of the tea “at this point” but that for every glass of tea he drank he had to drink one of my new drinks. He wasn’t thrilled with the idea BUT he agreed. I promised I would work hard to come up with a Peach Tea Recipe that is close to what we currently drink so that he wouldn’t feel deprived. He hugged me and told me he loved me.
The Girls are Another Story
During the shift to “clean eating”, my oldest daughter has been the easiest to please. She likes everything I make, but last weekend we tried out a pizza recipe I found on the Internet and she hated it. She told me it was disgusting. So, I promised to keep working on perfecting the recipe.
Last week, I started working on today’s recipe and again my daughter told me it was DISGUSTING. After her first sip, she refused to drink anymore. I was not happy and was determined to find a way to prepare it that she would love. After playing around in the kitchen some more, I came up with this Strawberry Lemonade Recipe and she loved it. She gulped it all down and asked for more. My son loved it too!!
It’s a definite keeper in our home. I am going to prepare a gallon of it and drink it this week as we enjoy the outdoors. Try it out and let me know what you think!

Glad you enjoyed it. Have much more coming!
At first glance, I thought I would ate the drink, but read on. Straining the pulp might work! I hate those seeds! Can u show a pic of the stevia?
Yes, Donna. I FINALLY found a Stevia I can live with and it leaves no aftertaste in the food.
