5 Steps for Creating a Card

5 Steps for Creating a Card. Today we are continuing our masculine card series and we are going to teach you how to create the perfect masculine card.  When I create a card, there are some handy tips I follow that help me to create the card I have in mind. Honestly, sometimes it doesn’t come out just right and I have to play around with different aspects of the card until it is just “right”. These steps are the perfect start to a perfect card every time.

You Rule Stamp Set

To create this beautiful masculine card I not only used the You Rule Stamp Set, but I also used the Vintage Verses Stamp Set. I love that I was able to combine the You Rule Stamp Set with a Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set to create the perfect masculine card.

This card has a very royal look with the four rectangular areas and adding the crown with some Large Rhinestones adds the perfect touch.  In addition, the oval area helps the crown from the You Rule Stamp Set look perfect.

In order to bring this card together, I followed some easy steps I am going to share with you. These steps will help you create that perfectly coordinated card using You Rule Stamp Set and the Vintage Verses Stamp Set.

5 Steps for Creating a Card

1. Choose a Designer Series Paper Pattern and list all the colors used.

2.  Choose card stock in the colors used in the patterned paper.

3. Choose a card stock color from Step 2 that works best for the base of the card.

4. Choose card stock in lighter/darker shades of the main color found in the patterned paper.

5.  Choose Add a Little Dazzle Metal Sheet colors that coordinate with the patterned paper.

For this card I chose a pattern from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Pack.  The colors in the pattern were Night of Navy, Not Quite Navy, and Crumb Cake.  Being that the Crumb Cake gave it an earth tone I thought Very Vanilla was a good color to incorporate.

In addition, I incorporated a stronger brown color and incorporated Dark Rich Chocolate Metal Sheet which is a perfect match with Early Espresso. Then, I incorporated Brushed Bronze Metal Sheets which coordinates beautifully with Crumb Cake Card Stock.

Since the pattern of the designer series paper was more of an elegant look, I decided I needed stamp sets that evoked that feeling.  I chose the You Rule Stamp Set and Vintage Verses Stamp Set; both of these stamps worked well together.  Follow our 5 Steps for Creating a Card and view our FREE PDF TUTORIAL so that you can recreate this card.  A list of both Stampin’ Up! and Add a Little Dazzle Metal Sheets are included.
