What Happened?
What Happened? Like many others, you may be wondering what happened. Have you ever had life dish you you one thing after another? Have you ever felt like not wanting to tell everybody what is going on because you don’t want anybody feeling sorry for you? Since October 24th, things have been going crazy around here and so I think it’s time I explain what happened. What is happening? and What is going to be happening?
Birthday Celebration
Immediately after the Casual Fridays Blog Hop was my son’s birthday. As I had mentioned during the blog hop, we had a birthday party for him at school and it was great. The kids loved it and so did my son. The bad thing was that all the pictures I took were lost. I have no idea what happened but they were erased off the camera. I was upset but decided not to dwell on it as I was spending the weekend celebrating another year of life God has given my son.
On Saturday, we started the day by going to our local Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. It was so much fun to see the kids enjoy it. What was even more exciting was that my son’s teacher was on the crew for the Spiderman Hot Air Balloon and she invited him to get a close up look. He was so excited and it was a wonderful start to his birthday.
During the day, we went to Comic Cons in Santa Fe and the kids LOVED IT. It was our first time ever and was definitely an experience for all of us. Our youngest daughter was not scared of any of the people dressed up. When they weren’t looking, she would sneak up on them and scare them. It was pretty funny! We had a great time and were able to get back home for the evening Balloon Glow which was absolutely breathtaking.
The Week After
A few days after my son’s birthday, I went in for my second Hernia Repair Surgery. Overall, surgery went pretty well and I thought I would be back up on my feet in 3-4 days. BIG MISTAKE!! I was in a lot of pain and was trying to avoid taking pain killers as I am very sensitive to them.
Going home proved to be a challenge. Instead of getting better, I got worst. Whenever I tried to sit on the computer to type a post or create a project, I couldn’t function. It took everything in me to even be able to get out of bed.
By the end of the week, I couldn’t even keep a teaspoon of water down without throwing up and so I was rushed to the Emergency Room. Hours later I was admitted into the hospital. The pain was so horrible that at one point I honestly thought I was going to die. I don’t say this lightly as I sat there and cried and texted one of my design team members (who is a nurse) and honestly asked her, “Am I going to die?”. I have never been so scared in my life. The thought of not seeing my children grow up made me cry even more.
On the Mend
After a few days of intense medication, I was sent home and I am starting to feel better day by day. The doctor says it will still be two more weeks until I am fully recovered. I am thankful for the daily improvements as I am sitting here typing this post.
I am so thankful for this incredible man you see here. This is my husband Michael. He has gone beyond the call of duty to take care of me and the kids through this entire ordeal. Honestly, he is my gift from God and I am so thankful for his unconditional love and care for me through all of this. He is so amazing that he has even offered to make Thanksgiving Dinner. He is truly a blessing!
