card 1Birthday Card

You always need the perfect birthday card for that special birthday boy. Well, I decided to find a creative way to create a handmade one while using the Skylanders image.  If you are like me, there is no way I can give a store bought card and so I had to find a way to work around it. I purchased a pack of those $2 invitation cards they sell at the party supply stores and used that as my starting point.

Once I figured out what size my card was going to be, all I had to do was figure out how much of the store bought card I was going to cut out. I didn’t want the “You’re Invited” to show up so I got creative with my cutting and matted the main image.

card 2Pull Out Card

Have you ever seen the “Pull Out Card”? It’s a pretty cool card and perfect for a young boy.  All you do is pull on the end where the ribbon is and the other end comes out, too. It was really fun making the mechanism for this card.  It was actually pretty easy and is a great way to add a WOW factor to any card.

The background of this card was created using the same embossing folder I created on Day 2.  I used Outrageously Orange Craft Metal Sheets, my Homemade Embossing Folder, and the No Shims Embossing Mat.  Then I stamped the sentiments on each slider of my card with the Bold Wishes Stamp Set .

I love this stamp set and its coordinating day.  I encourage you to purchase these items from Casual Fridays Stamps. Not only are their products amazing but Michelle offers superb customer service.  I also invite you to visit us the BOUTIQUE and place your order for Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets.
