Horse Frontier Embossed Metal Stampin’ Up! Card

Horse Frontier Embossed Metal Stampin’ Up! Card  This card was created using a stamp set I have actually had for a long time.  There are so many cards I can think of using this stamp set and today I am going to start off with the first card of many to come.  Whether male or female this card is perfect for the horse lover.

Horse Frontier Stampin' Up! CardToday’s Horse Frontier card was fun to create.  This card is different from my normal style of cards I share on my blog.  Although it was outside my comfort zone, I was amazed at how easy it was to come up with a card using the Horse Frontier Stamp Set

I have seen many cards using this stamp set, but I wanted something different. One of the main things I wanted to do was incorporate Add a Little Dazzle Metal Sheets.  There is so much you can do with embossed metal and so I wanted to create a western look using metal sheets.  It took a little thinking, but I LOVE the way this card came out using the Horse Frontier Stamp Set.

Stampin’ Up! Product: I love the combination I created using Early Espresso Card Stock accompanied with the Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper (#126917) found in the Stampin’ Up! catalog.  I was able to create a leather look by inking the piece of this specialty paper with Early Espresso Classic Ink.  In addition, to create a more rugged look I distressed it with the Stampin’ Distress Tool (#127562), Antique Brads (#117273), and Linen Thread (#104199).  Then, I used Very Vanilla Card Stock for the main images and sponged them with Early Espresso Classic Ink.

Sale-a-Bration Product:  In this card, I also used a really neat stamp set that is available during Sale-a-Bration 2013 for FREE with every $50 Stampin’ Up! order (before shipping & handling). The Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set (#132195-clear or #132914-wood) is a must have stamp set. I will be sharing lots of Stampin’ Up! Card Ideas using this stamp set so make sure to get it. It even has a coordinating Framelits Set.

Add a Little Dazzle Metal Sheets: In this Stampin’ Up! Card I embossed metal in the following colors: Baby Blue Metal Sheet and Rich Dark Chocolate Metal Sheet. These two Add a Little Dazzle Metal Sheet colors created the perfect combination. I didn’t want the vibrancy of the Baby Blue Metal Sheet for this card and so I had to find a way to distress the metal sheet while insuring that the Early Espresso Classic Ink stayed on it.  Stay tuned as I teach you how to Heat Emboss on Metal Sheets tomorrow.
