It’s Day 2 of the  Add a Little Dazzle and Casual Fridays Stamps Blog Hop!   We are having fun sharing our projects with you using some amazing stamp sets and dies along with Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets.  We have some inspirational projects to share with you that are sure to have you running to your craft room.  Whether you are looking for cards or 3d items, we have you covered and are excited about sharing our creations with you.  Make sure to join us every day this week and leave a comment for a chance to win a prize.  bag 1Frustration

Have you ever had an idea for a card or 3d item and searched the internet for hours only to come back empty-handed? This is something that happens to me ALL THE TIME when it comes to ideas for children’s parties or gifts.  Honestly, it is very frustrating because you can’t find stamps or patterned paper of character images.

As many of you know, I have four children ages 20, 10 (this week), 7, and 3.  As you can imagine, I have my fair share of having to come up with ideas.  I find great ideas on the Internet, but as a crafter I want to give it my own twist.  There are times when I just simply buy files from designers, use their idea, and give it my twist (yesterday’s post). Then, there are other times when I purchase items and use them in non-traditional ways and actually surprise myself with the end result.

The awesome part is when people ask me where I bought these and I tell them I made them.  My favorite item to use is one that stumps everybody.  The last time I used it the characters and employees at Disneyland were shocked. (I will tell you more about that one next week) 😉

bag 2Party Themes

My son and I spent hours on Sunday hopping from store to store looking for anything Skylanders related and all we found was a poster.  It all started with the gum balls from yesterday’s post and kept going to other small details.  I had to start thinking outside of the box or pay $100 to have Brown Gum balls shipped to me overnight. :/ My favorite part of the day was when my son looked over at me and said, “Mom, you’re thinking. That scares me because I know how your mind works with birthday party ideas. You’re looking at that can of  spray.”

This weekend, my seven year old daughter started asking, “Mom, what are we getting my brother for his birthday?” My daughter is set on getting his brother something really cool for his birthday but was disappointed when we couldn’t find a Skylanders birthday gift bag for him. Challenge #2 How Do We Make a Cool Skylander’s Gift Bag?

Solution #1 Get the cool Linked Fri-Die from Casual Fridays and cardboard and create your own Embossing Folder.  Then, take the awesome Outrageously Orange Craft Metal Sheets, your Homemade Embossing Folder, and the No Shims Embossing Mat and run them through the Big Shot.  You have now created a masterpiece background using Casual Fridays Dies and Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets.  The important tip to remember is that when attaching craft metal sheets the best adhesive to use is Scor-Tape.

Tutorial for yesterday’s post is coming today and more tutorials are in the works.  I invite you to SUBSCRIBE HERE to my feed and you will receive and email when my blog is updated. This way you will stay up-to-date on the tutorials that will be released.

Be sure to visit each of the designers on this blog hop!
