Video Game Inspiration
Video games are definitely a big hit with boys. They love everything about them including colorful remotes. My son loves the ones that blink and glow in the dark. In my internet search, I stumbled across pages of game remote control candy molds. As I scrolled through the pages, I came across a Wii Remote Control candy mold.
I was so excited you would have thought it was for my birthday. 🙂 I remember being so excited that I Facebooked Lydia (design team member) and told her all about it. 🙂 I immediately ordered two molds and anxiously awaited their arrival. It felt like Christmas in August.
Party Favor #2
Have you ever purchased Wilton Candy Melts? They come in so many fun colors and make creating candy so much fun. Nowadays, remotes come in all kind of fun colors. Whatever color you want is pretty much available. Even pretty colors for girls.
My son wanted to get a little creative with the color of the remote controls. He chose the traditional white for the boys and pink for girls. My favorite are the white ones because they look more like the traditional Wii Remote Controls. 🙂
Gift Tag
To create the bag, I attached a piece of patterned paper to a piece of card stock and placed the Chocolate Wii Remote on it (so the chocolate wouldn’t break from handling it) and slipped it into the clear bag. Then, I created a fun and simple tag with the Funky Square Tag Fri-Dies from Casual Fridays Stamps. I used the same embossing folder I created on Day 2 to make the background for this tag.
The tag was created using Outrageously Orange Craft Metal Sheets, my Homemade Embossing Folder, and the No Shims Embossing Mat. You can add those items to your cart by clicking on the links.
Honestly, I fell in love with this tag die and its coordinating stamp set and its a MUST HAVE in your stamp/die collection. I encourage you to purchase these items from Casual Fridays Stamps. Not only are their products amazing but Michelle offers superb customer service.
Announcement: I have many more projects to share with you in these children’s party series using Casual Fridays Stamps products. As a result, I will extend the projects in this series into next week. Perfect tag and packaging for these awesome remote control candy.
It’s always great when we can find things to make for our kids that will surprise them. Now that my daughter and granddaughter are into paper crafting I’m always looking for stamps/paper that reflect the things they like to do. I purchase the items and keep them for the next big gift giving occasion. they are always so pleased. They don’t have time to spend on the ‘net like I do so they miss on a lot of the fun items that are coming out.
What fun party favors! (My birthday is in August…)
