My Inspiration
My son loves playing the Skylander’s video game. For weeks he has been telling me about the upcoming release of the new video game. So when the subject came up about his birthday, he automatically asked that his school birthday party be centered around the video game Skylanders.
Honestly, I know nothing about this game except that He loves playing it. Funny thing is every year he challenges me with a theme for his school birthday party. I always find a way to make it work. Sometimes it is harder than others, but he loves seeing what I come up with. I have to admit it has been a challenge but I have found some creative ways to share some projects with you using Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets and Casual Fridays Stamps and Dies for his birthday party this week. I am excited!
Party Favor
The goal of the Skylander’s video game is to go through different levels to find the eternal sources of the different elements. Once you find and restore all eight, you have restored the “Core of Light” which brings light and life to Skylands.
Each student will receive a “Core of Light” party favor. I created these by filling a clear gumball tube with eight large gumballs in each of the eight elements colors. Then, I applied an Element Icon Sticker on the outside of the tube on top of each gumball. Then, I die cut each leaf using Garland Green Craft Metal Sheets, applied Inka Gold over it to create texture, punched a hole on one end, and tied it to the tube with twine.
Then, I used the Frankly Stamp Set from Casual Fridays Stamps for the sentiment. Honestly, this was the perfect sentiment for this party favor and brought it together perfectly. I love how I was able to use this stamp set in a completely different way than it was intended.
