Metal 101: Heat Embossing on Craft Metal Sheets

Metal 101: Heat Embossing on Craft Metal Sheets. I love crafting and using fun tools to that help add dazzle to my projects. Whether it be creating cards, 3d items, or handmade gifts I always like to add that extra touch by embossing.  One of my favorite tools to use is the Heat Tool.  This was one of the first tools I owned and fell in love even more when I discovered how to use it with Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets.

My Favorite Craft Tool

As many of you know by now, I love embossing. I love the texture added to flat surfaces.  Embossing brings rubber stamping to life in a very unique and beautiful way. One of the first tools I ever owned was the Heat Tool.  It was love at first sight!  Then, I fell in love with it all over again when I learned how to use it on Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets.

How Does It Work?

An Embossing Heat Tool is a tool used to melt embossing powder while creating a raised “embossed effect”.   This tool directs hot a high amount of heat to a precise area.  The air released is extremely hot and so you must be very careful when using this tool.  Once the Embossing Powder causing it to melt and then set when it is cooled off.

Biggest Frustration

Throughout the years, there are a few things about the Embossing Tool that has caused me frustration. It isn’t so much in the tool itself but in the finished product.  I find that no matter how careful I am I always get specks of Embossing Powder all over my stamped image or I end up with areas without any Embossing Powder at all.

Join me today as I share a very easy tip that will help you have perfect heat embossed images every time. This technique works with card stock and Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets.
